As hybrid work continues to reshape the professional landscape, meeting equity—a balanced experience for both in-person and remote participants—remains a key challenge. Sam Read,  Area Operations Manager for Avidex in the Pacific Northwest, is at the forefront of this discussion, offering insights on how to bridge this gap in the November issue of Systems Contractor News.

THE HYBRID WORK CHALLENGE

Sam Read notes the demand for seamless hybrid meetings, as employees compare them to personal video calls, pushing for better AV standards. “The bar for work audio/video is higher than ever,” says Read. Employees want clear communication, highlighting the need for professional AV solutions.

Research supports Read’s claims. A Vizrt study shows 69% of employees say communication quality affects engagement, and 40% might leave if video quality is poor.

To address this, Read says, “Putting the needs of the end user in context of the developments in AI and video teleconferencing allows for the best possible meeting equity through a conferencing system.“Creating an equitable hybrid meeting is very possible with our current state of technology; asking the right questions leads integrators to providing the expected quality from their customers.”
